Cops and firefighters from both ends of the turnpike hit the ice for the Guns and Hoses charity series.

While Tulsa and Oklahoma City are playing against each other, they're both playing for the same cause: to raise money for the Chad Peery Foundation.

Peery is an Oklahoma City police officer who was paralyzed trying to break up a bar fight nearly a year ago.

"The community support across the state has been absolutely just phenomenal," said injured Police Officer Chad Peery. "It's been key in my recovery, just knowing everybody has cared, all the letters and support."

Peery says in the last couple months he's gained some use of his legs and can even walk a little with some help.

Oklahoma City won today four to three, but Tulsa gets another shot. The rematch is set for March.
