Sam Worthington is back on the big screen in another suspenseful drama. And if you're looking for a straight-forward, entertaining movie to see this weekend, take a leap and buy a ticket to "Man On A Ledge."

Worthington plays Nick Cassidy, an ex-cop who says he was set up for a crime he didn't commit. So he breaks out of prison and perches on the ledge of a high rise building in New York City in a quest to prove his innocence.

Cassidy asks specifically for disgraced police negotiator Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks) to try to talk him down from the ledge. She's still struggling to get her reputation back after a standoff that ended badly.

The more Mercer talks to Cassidy, the more she realizes he has a hidden agenda. There's a lot more going on than a possibly suicidal ex-cop turned fugitive who's just trying to bring some attention to his wrongful (?) conviction.

This movie is pretty straightforward. There's suspense, some drama and a bit of mystery, but no major twists or turns. There's also chasing, running, yelling and almost falling off buildings. And, best of all, there's Sam Worthington. I love this guy. And lately, he's been everywhere (Avatar, Terminator Salvation, The Debt). He's a great combination of good looks and actual talent. He's just plain fun to watch.

Elizabeth Banks is also pretty good in this film. Despite her character's sort of tragic past, she's not very deep. Still, she's enjoyable.

I give "Man On A Ledge" 3 out of 5 stars. It's not great and you won't be thinking about it for days afterward, but it's a good ride, enjoyable and a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

"Man On A Ledge" is rated PG-13.
