Police said an armed man kicked in the front door of a home in the 300 block of Kendra Drive around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. The suspect was holding a handgun.
The homeowner and his girlfriend were inside the house. The homeowner grabbed his own gun and shot the suspect.

The suspect was hit in the chest and rushed to Midwest Regional Hospital where he died. The homeowner and his girlfriend were not hurt.
Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes said the homeowner had every right to defend himself. The names of the couple and the suspect have not been released.
This is the third time in a year a homeowner in Midwest City has shot and killed an intruder.
