Bethany Police Chaplain Killed In Crash Laid To Rest

BETHANY, Oklahoma -

The Bethany Police Department said good bye to one of its own, as Chaplain Wally Renegar was laid to rest Tuesday.

Chaplain Renegar was killed on Thursday, January 19, when he was crossing the street at Northwest 39th and Donald Avenue. Police said a driver did not see him and ended up hitting him.

Officers said it was an unfortunate accident. Police Chief Phil Cole said Renegar was one of the finest men he has ever known.

Renegar was a retired minister who is noted as loving his family church and the Bethany Police Department. Wally attended Bethany First Nazarene Church and worked as chaplain for Bethany for six years.
