YUKON, Oklahoma -

Integris's Canadian Valley campus sits right on Garth Brooks Boulevard. A location that now may very likely make hospital administrators cringe every time they drive to work.

"Garth Brooks is obviously internationally famous and has legions of fans and we believe certainly while this trial is ongoing, people have strong opinions," said Hardy Watkins, Vice President of Communications at Integris Health.

An Integris Hospital spokesperson says they are closely monitoring comments from all different sources. The hospital has gotten hundreds of comments from traditional media sources in addition to countless opinions on the internet and social media.

In Brooks' hometown of Yukon, folks seem to side heavily with the Country Music superstar.

"Especially donating that kind of money, he's a big influence in Yukon, people love him," said Robert Montgomery, a Yukon resident. "I don't think they should have done that to him."

"It changed my opinion of the hospital. Yes," Jim Wall agreed.

Opinion seems to be a bit more varied on the web:

Shannon wrote on the News 9 Facebook page: "OMG get over it....sorry he lost his mom....but someone else donated a lot more money than him."

Still, the majority side with Brooks.

At Integris, they say most of the comments they are getting are in Brooks' favor. A majority are questioning why they let it get this far. But they hope that opinion will fade, once the spotlight does.

"We believe ultimately once the spotlight of this one donor instance passes, people will continue to judge us on the excellent healthcare they receive," Watkins said.

Most of those people we spoke with say they are waiting for a jury decision before making any final judgments.
