The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has reopened southbound I-35 at State Highway 9 which was closed due to smoke from a wildfire.

The fire began shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday near the Turtle Creek Mobile Home Park.  Firefighters evacuated about 100 homes in the path of the fire.

The Norman Fire Department had 10 units on the scene and was assisted by the Goldsby and Newcastle fire departments.

Approximately 40 acres have been burned.

Additional firefighters from Goldsby and Newcastle are assisting.

No structures have been burned and no injuries have been reported.

Homeowners in the mobile home park tell News 9 they suspect homeless people living nearby on the South Canadian River as a possible cause of the fire.
