BETHANY, Oklahoma -

Police in Bethany tracked down and arrested a man they believe stole nearly 30 guns. Three people are in jail after police busted into a Bethany home Monday.

It all went down at 3700 Donald after police served a search warrant around 9 a.m. Monday. Inside, Bethany police found about half of Ed Kirkpatrick's guns, but the rifles were torn apart.

They were only able to recover 12 rifle barrels and knew right away the single shots were Ed's. Twenty-nine single shot, camouflaged hunting rifles were reported stolen from Ed's Contender's on October 1.

Twenty-three-year-old William Tyler Stallcup is charged with 14 counts of concealing stolen property, drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Bethany police say they had to shoot an aggressive pit bull at the home and it died at the scene.

Tuesday, the suspect's father pulled blankets and carpet covered in blood, outside to dispose of. The father didn't want to go on camera because he said he too has had "run-ins" with Bethany police and didn't want to start trouble.

At first, he said his son had absolutely nothing to do with stealing the rifles, but after hearing about Ed and what this theft has done to him, the father admitted his son has been hanging out with the wrong people.

Chris Stallcup vowed to get the truth out of his son or get used to having a son in and out of prison. William Stallcup may have to wait awhile to have a heart to heart with dad.

His father told News9 he is in no hurry to bail his son out, and hopes he'll think about where his life is heading.

Meanwhile, Ed Kirkpatrick is still without his guns. Police say it's up the District Attorney to decide whether the stolen guns will be returned to their owner.
