A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 35 near Waterloo Road in Logan County has claimed the life of one person Monday afternoon.
It happened just after 5 p.m. Monday. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a northbound driver went through the cable barrier and crashed in the southbound lanes. The driver was ejected and died at the scene.
Investigators say it looks like the defective tires of the vehicle were to blame. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, one of the vehicle's tires was blown out and another was not safe to drive on.
The southbound lanes and the inside northbound lane on I-35 at Mile Marker 148 were shut down for more than two hours due to the collision. But all lanes on I-35 are now back open.
Police have not released the identity of the person killed in the crash. No one else was injured in the crash.
