The Sooners jumped out to a 7-0 lead against Kansas State and never trailed, knocking off the No. 18 Wildcats 82-73 Saturday to notch their first win of conference play and snapping a three-game losing streak in the process.

Oklahoma scored the first seven points of the game, to take big lead just 90 seconds into the contest, but a three-point play from Thomas Gipson and a three-pointer from Rodney McGruder, cut the lead to just one point three minutes later.

Romero Osby then scored on back-to-back layups and a free throw to put OU up six points, followed by a steal and layup by Cameron Clarke to take a 14-6 lead. The Sooners build their lead to double digits in the closing minutes of the first half, but a Jeremy Jones three-pointer pulled the Wildcats within 38-29 heading into the locker room.

The Sooners' lead ballooned back to double-digits in the three-and-a-half minutes of the second half, thanks to four each from Osby and Andrew Fitzgerald to go up 47-33 with 16:49 on the clock. Oklahoma's lead did not dip under seven points for the next 16 minutes, with Oklahoma dominating the second half, only dipping to six thanks to a desperation three-pointer from Nino Williams with less than a minute on the clock.

Fitzgerald missed just one shot from the floor, shooting nine of ten and finishing the game with 21 points, while both Steven Pledger and Osby turning in 18 points and six rebounds each.

Oklahoma will try to make it back-to-back conference wins with a 7 p.m. matchup Tuesday against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
