OKLAHOMA CITY – After an impressive unbeaten streak earlier in the year, the Barons are in a bit of a slump.

OKC dropped its third straight decision on Friday night with a 2-1 overtime loss to the Rockford IceHogs.

The overtime loss dropped the Barons' record on the year to 23-10-2-3.

The Barons had just two shots in the first period but were able to send one of them in. Mark Arcobello put in the first goal of the night off a pass from Hunter Tremblay at the 5:38 mark.

Neither team was able to put one in in the second period, and Oklahoma City appeared to be in good shape heading into the third.

The Barons failed to convert a power play in the third, and the IceHogs responded with a goal of their own to tie it up. Philippe Paradis took a centering pass from Brandon Segal and scored it at about the 4:30 mark of the third, and it would eventually force overtime.

At the 2:10 mark in overtime, Rockford's Ben Smith deflected a shot in past OKC goalie Yann Danis for the win.

Danis stopped 21 of his 23 shots but ended up falling to 15-6-2 on the season.

Oklahoma City has had trouble scoring the puck lately, being held scoreless in eight of its past 10 periods.

The loss drops OKC into a tie with the Houston Aeros for first place in the Western Division with 51 points in the standings.

The Barons will host Abbotsford as part of a back-to-back set with faceoffs set for 7 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cox Convention Center.
