Boy, 12, Dies After Fight With Teen In Cordell
CORDELL, Oklahoma - The Washita County Sheriff's Office and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are looking into the death of a 12-year-old boy who died Wednesday night after a fight at a Cordell church.
According to OSBI, Lane B. Madison got into an altercation with a 13-year-old boy in the lower level of the First Baptist Church near College and First Street. Witnesses told investigators Lane's head hit the floor during the fight. The floor consisted of a thin layer of carpet over concrete.
Lane was rushed to a hospital where he later died. The State Medical Examiner's Office is performing an autopsy to determine the exact cause of his death.
Deputies have not made any arrests in the case. The Washita County District Attorney will decide whether to file charges.
