Cowboy Football Adds Four Early Enrollees

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

Oklahoma State University football has added four signees to the team as two high school players and two junior college transfers began the spring semester Monday.

Since graduating in December, quarterback Wes Lunt and linebacker Jeremiah Tshimanga are now on the team as well as JUCO transfers Calvin Barnett, a defensive tackle, and tight end Blake Jackson.

"We have added some great people to our football program," Gundy said. "We're excited about what they bring to Oklahoma State on and off the field."

Lunt, a 6-foot-5, 200 pound quarterback helped Rochester High School to a pair of Illinois 4A state championships. He is listed as the nation's ninth best pro-style quarterback prospect and last year passed for 65 touchdowns and just eight interceptions while throwing for nearly 7,500 yards. He was a first-team all-stater as selected by the Chicago Tribune as well as the Springfield News Gazette and was his conference's player of the year. His 590 passing yards against Springfield is an Illinois state record. He also set Illinois high school records for passing yards and completions in the state championship game.

Tshimanga, 6-foot-3, 230 pound, linebacker, is ranked as the No. 69 player in Texas. His senior season he tallied 84 tackles, with 11 for loss, and a defensive touchdown.

Barnett joins the Cowboys out of Navarro Community College. He attended Tulsa's Booker T. Washington in high school. In 2011 as a sophomore, he was named a NJCAA All-American after logging 35 tackles (20 solo) five tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Jackson begins his time at Oklahoma State after attending Scottsdale Community College where he led the team with 62catches for 934 yards and 16 touchdowns which earned him first-team All-America honors as a sophomore.

His 62 catches ranked sixth nationally, his 934 yards were seventh in the nation and his 16 touchdowns were the third-most in the NJCAA ranks.
