OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Oklahoma City Thunder confirmed Sunday that guard Eric Maynor will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL, which will require surgery, in last night's win over the Houston Rockets.

"It is unfortunate to lose a player like Eric, whose work ethic and leadership has contributed to the culture of our organization," Sam Presti said in a press release. "Knowing him and the mental toughness he possesses, we are confident that he will do everything necessary to come back from this injury and be prepared for the 2012-13 season."

Maynor was averaging 15.2 minutes per game for the Thunder, was served as the second-team point guard. The third-year player from Virginia Commonwealth averaged 4.2 points, 2.4 assists and 1.4 rebounds through nine games this season.

The Thunder will now have to rely on veteran guard Royal Ivey and rookie Reggie Jackson for depth, neither of which having played significant time this season.
