GRADY COUNTY, Oklahoma -
Authorities have released the name of a Blanchard man who was killed in an apparent home invasion. Justin Shane Martin, 24, was shot and killed Saturday afternoon.
Police say Martin and another man attempted to break into a home in the 2200 block of County Road 1280 at about 2 p.m. The female resident, who has been identified as 18-year-old Sarah Dawn McKinley, was home alone with her 3-month-old son.
McKinley told officers she shot Martin as he entered through the front door of her home.
"Officers cleared the residence, after discovering evidence of forced entry," according to a Blanchard Police news release.
They "found 24-year-old Justin Shane Martin of Blanchard, slumped over a sofa with a single gunshot wound to the upper torso."
Authorities say McKinley had pushed the couch in front of the door as a barricade.
