Fire Weather Watch, Wind Advisories In Effect For Parts Of Oklahoma

Strong, gusty winds and low humidity levels are combining to create high fire danger for several Oklahoma counties.

If you're thinking about welcoming 2012 with some fireworks, you might want to reconsider.

Strong, gusty winds and low humidity levels are combining to create high fire danger for several Oklahoma counties. A fire weather watch is in effect through Saturday afternoon in Tulsa, Rogers, Mayes, Craig, Nowata, Ottawa and Creek counties.

A wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. for several counties including Alfalfa County, Beckham County, Custer County, Dewey County, and Ellis County.

Motorists should be aware that strong wind gusts – especially cross winds on bridges and overpasses – may cause difficulties.
