Murder Charged Filed In OKC Double Murder Case

A shootout in the metro leaves two people dead. There was more than one gunman, but right now only one man faces a murder charge.

Retaliation is said to be the reason for the November 8 triple shooting that left two men dead and another injured.

Court documents show two men planned to settle a dispute over a stolen car.

Police say Rayvon Johnson called on his buddy, Marcel Grigsby, to help him end the dispute. Court documents say Johnson and Grigsby went to a home in southeast Oklahoma City and began shooting at Cleveland Calderon and Lamar Shirley.

"If you arm yourself and you arm a buddy and you go over and settle a score and your buddy shoots and kills a victim, you are still responsible for that murder," Assistant District Attorney Scott Roland said.

That's what police believe happened on November 8. Police say Grigsby shot Lamar Shirley in the back, killing him.

Police say, however, it appears the gunmen wanted Cleveland Calderon dead. Instead, Calderon only received a gunshot wound to the leg.

The court documents show another man died at the scene. When police arrived, they found a second gunshot victim laying in the front yard. That victim turned out to be Marcel Grigsby. Police say he was shot in the head by his own accomplice, Rayvon Johnson.

"The fact that Johnson went over there to shoot and kill one of these victims makes him culpable for murder," Roland said.

Court records show that although Johnson intended to kill Calderon, he's now facing murder charges for the deaths of two different men.

Investigators say the two shooting suspects used Grigsby's girlfriend's car during the crime and that Johnson tried to return the car after the murders.

Rayvon Johnson has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of assault and battery.
