Local children who have been adopted through Dillon International joined with the Tulsa Rotary club Wednesday to show Oklahoma troops they care.

They wrote thank you letters to members of the 45th Infantry to let them know they are thinking of them this Christmas.

Whitney McIntire works at Dillion and says this project is very near and dear to her heart.

"My husband is currently serving his 3rd tour in Afghanistan," she said. "I know how much cards and letters and boxes from home mean to the troops."

This tour of the 45th is the Oklahoma National Guard's largest deployment since the Korean War.
