Deputy Discovers Body Of Young Woman By Tulsa Road

The body of a young woman was discovered by the side of the road in Tulsa early Saturday.

"The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office deputy observed an unusual figure off the highway near 22200 East 31st Street," said Tulsa Homicide Sergeant David Walker.

That location is just off the Creek Turnpike in east Tulsa.

The woman is described as a white or Indian female in her mid to late 20s, 110 to 120 pounds and about 5'3" tall. She was wearing a red hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

"The body has no identification on her, and the Tulsa Police Department is asking the public's help in identifying her," Walker said.

There were no signs of trauma, according to the news release. There was frost on the body, indicating she had been there for hours before discovery, Walker said.

The police released a photo of a tattoo on the woman's lower back. The tattoo shows several small flowers and four names including "Maddy" and "Kaylee" or "Haylee."

"We're hoping someone will recognize the tattoo, or maybe the names on it, and call Tulsa Police," said Sergeant Tim Lewandowski of the Tulsa Police Department.

Until someone steps forward, police won't know how she spent her final moments: if she was alive when she got to this ditch, or if someone dumped her body there.

The body was found near an abandoned back seat of a car. Police have taken the seat in as evidence until they can determine if it is related to the death.

The Medical Examiner's office is now working to find out the cause of her death.
