Two Army soldiers from Poteau are supporting the U.S. draw down phase from Iraq.

Two Oklahoma Army soldiers from Antlers and Poteau are supporting the U.S. draw down phase from Iraq.

On Thursday, Officials in Baghdad participated in a symbolic ceremony in which the U.S. Forces-Iraq flag was officially retired.

The two soldiers, Specialist Ethen Calder and Staff Sgt. Greg Ketcher with the 1-180th Cavalry Regiment stationed at Camp Buehring, Kuwait are assisting with convoys leaving Iraq.

The U.S. invaded Iraq in March 2003.

Spc. Ethen Calder is a wheeled vehicle mechanic and Staff Sgt Greg Ketcher is a Convoy Escort Team Commander.

The final few thousand troops will be out of Iraq by year's end.
