The man charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of two young Weleetka girls is scheduled to make his first courtroom appearance Tuesday afternoon.

Kevin Sweat is set to make an initial appearance at the Okfuskee County courthouse in Okemah Tuesday afternoon.

Prosecutors have charged Kevin Sweat with the murders of Skyla Whitaker and Taylor Paschal Placker.

Sweat is also charged with the death of his girlfriend, Ashley Taylor.  Sweat became a suspect in the Weleetka murders after he was arrested for Taylor's murder. He reportedly confessed to killing Taylor in July 2011 just before the two were supposed to marry in New Orleans.
