OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Sooners struggled in every facet of the game against Oklahoma State Saturday, and they suffered for it in this week's report card.

The defense came into Bedlam concerned with Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon in the passing game, but it was the running game the Sooners could not stop. Joseph Randle and Jeremy Smith rushed for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns each and averaged more than nine yards per carry.

The OU offense was even worse. Landry Jones struggled with high throws and looked uncomfortable in the pocket. He threw two interceptions and fumbled twice, one of which came when he was untouched and simply lost control of the ball. OSU returned that fumble for a defensive touchdown.

The running game could not get going either. The Sooners tried everything they could, giving seven different players carries. But the team averaged just 3.3 yards per carry, and that is with a 28-yard touchdown run by Blake Bell at the end of the game.

The Sooners finished with 108 rushing yards on 33 carries, while OSU gained 278 yards on the same number of carries.

The OU special teams unit performed better than the offense or defense, but still had problems of its own. Tress Way was forced to punt eight times, and he was under pressure almost every time. That resulted in an average of just 39 yards per punt, one of his lowest totals of the season.

Michael Hunnicutt made his only field goal attempt from 48 yards away, but needed some help from the goalpost.
