OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma State Cowboys were nothing short of dominant during their Bedlam win over the Oklahoma Sooners Saturday. But how would John grade the Cowboys' performance that netted a BCS Bowl berth?
After a slow start, the Oklahoma State Cowboys offense fired on all cylinders and racked up nearly 500 yards of total offense, including 278 yards on the ground. Brandon Weeden has his first game as a starter without a touchdown pass, coming up with 217 yards, while sophomore running backs Joseph Randle and Jeremy Smith rushed for 151 and 119 yards respectively.
The Cowboys' defense was on point all night as well, keeping the Sooners' from scoring a touchdown until the game was well out of reach. OSU forced five turnovers and gave up 358 yards overall, just 108 on the ground and the only touchdown coming late in the fourth quarter.
On special teams, the kicking game was on point for Oklahoma State, with six of their nine kickoffs going for touchbacks. The Cowboys only had one chance to return a kick on the evening, with Justin Gilbert returning it for two yards.
