Despite the threats of nasty weather, the skies stayed clear and no snow fell in central Oklahoma Monday morning, but residents of southern Oklahoma saw some flurries.

The News 9 Weather Team and the National Weather Service reported Sunday night that snow chances had diminished across the state.  By 7 a.m. Monday, only light flurries had fallen in southern Oklahoma.

"We have thought there would be a chance of winter precip Monday, but it is just not coming together," said Jed Castles, News 9 Meteorologist. "There are some returns showing up on radar tonight, but not much is falling. Expect a few light snow showers or maybe a sprinkle or two, but that will be about it."

"The main story the next two days will be the wind chills. Expect them to be in the teens and low 20's Monday into Tuesday," Castles said.

Late Monday and early Tuesday, a weak storm system could produce snow flurries over far northwest Oklahoma. Again, no accumulations are expected.
