An Edmond doctor turned himself into police Friday morning after they issued a warrant for his arrest on four counts of sexual battery.

Dr. Medhat Michael is accused of sexually harassing several current and former employees at Best Care Medical Center, his private practice in Edmond. He was arrested and his bond set at $40,000.

According to police reports, two of Michael's employees called police on October 20, 2011, to report they'd been continually sexually harassed by Michael. One woman told police the harassment began the day she interviewed for the job, and continued throughout her employment.

The woman said Michael would make comments about her physical appearance that made her uncomfortable. She said he would also ask about her boyfriend and the size of his genitals. She also reported Michael would walk behind her, moan and tell her she was "getting him excited." The woman also accused Michael of giving her forceful hugs, and attempting to kiss her. She said he once came up behind her, grabbed her hips and thrust his hips into her backside while saying, "oh baby, oh baby."

The woman said she told Michael on several occasions his behavior was inappropriate and he needed to stop, but the woman said he responded by laughing.

On the same day, another employee told police Michael often touched her inappropriately and made comments about her physical appearance. She said he would also bark and howl like a dog at her, and use sexually explicit language. The woman said she told Michael at least four or five times to stop his behavior.

A third employee accused Michael of kissing her on her face, neck and breasts. She also said he once told her he'd thought about her all night and she was the reason he was "frustrated." She said he would also tell her he loved her and ask her if she loved him. She said Michael would never respond when she told him to stop.

On October 22, 2011, police received calls from two other women who said Michael sexually harassed them, and they decided to come forward after hearing other women had reported the doctor to police. One was a current employee, and the other left the medical center in August 2011 after working there for six months. An Edmond police report from 2008 also shows another employee accused Michael of sexual harassment, but charges were never filed in that case.

Edmond Police believe there may be more victims that have not come forward.  Anyone who believes they were a victim of sexual misconduct by Dr. Michael, or has information regarding any other cases of alleged abuse should contact Edmond Police Detective Mark Oak at (405) 359-4478.
