Oklahoma City officials, along with officials for the Pioneer Library System, will cut the ribbon for the new Southwest Oklahoma City Library on Friday, December 2.
This event will take place at 10:30 a.m. at 2201 Southwest 134th Street.
According to officials, the library will open to the public a few weeks later due to construction delays. However, once it opens, visitors will be able to check out books from the library's 47,000-item print collection, and another 6000 items in non-print collections, including DVD's and books on CD.
In addition, officials said people will have access to 28 computers in the library and over 700,000 books and other items collectively owned by Pioneer Library System.
The $3.7 million facility was paid for from the 2000 and 2007 GO bonds.
