Passerby Alerts Residents In Oklahoma City House Fire

A young man walking down the street probably saved the lives of the people inside a house that was on fire.

The fire started just before 5 p.m. in the 1000 block of Southwest 81st Street in Oklahoma City.

Coltan Meeks said he saw the flames, called 911, and ran up to get everyone out.

"I'm glad they're alive," Meeks said.

The fire chief told News 9 the fire started near the garage, but what started it is still under investigation. He said about 30 to 45 percent of the home is a loss.
