Man Who Died At Norman Police Station Identified

Police have released the name of a man found dead Monday night at the Norman Police Department.

Police say 45-year-old John Douglas Minton committed suicide then went to the police station to die. A person who arrived at the station around 7:30 p.m. to pay a ticket found Minton lying on the steps.

Minton was bleeding and unconscious. Police called an ambulance to the station. Emergency medical technicians declared him dead at the scene.

Police say no one at the department was ever in danger.
