OSU No. 2, OU No. 7 In Latest College Polls

The Cowboys received their highest ranking in school history and remain undefeated while the Sooners held at No. 7 this week.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are now the No. 2 team in the nation and Oklahoma is up to No. 7 according to the latest USA Today and AP Top 25 Polls released Sunday.

The newest AP poll ranks the Cowboys second—their highest ranking in school history, while the USA Today Poll has OSU at No. 3. Oklahoma ranks seventh in both polls behind Oregon and ahead of Arkansas.

LSU remains the nations top team after being the former No. 2 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. LSU received 59-of60 first place votes in this week's AP Poll.The coaches poll ranks Stanford in second in front of Oklahoma State followed by Alabama at No. 4 and Boise State at No. 5.

The AP Poll lists Stanford third followed by Alabama, Boise State, Oregon Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Oklahoma State (9-0, 5-0) moves up after a thrilling late game win over the Kansas State Wildcats and because of LSU's win over Alabama in a game of field goals to give the Crimson Tide its first loss of the season by a final of 9-6.

The loss for Kansas State moved them from last week's No. 14 BCS ranking down to No. 22 in the Coaches Poll and No. 17 in the AP Poll.

Oklahoma holds at the No. 7 spot after a big third quarter helped bring the Sooners to a 41-25 win over the Texas A&M Aggies. OU is now 8-1 on the year and 5-1 in conference play.

OU cruised to victory despite losing its leading receiver Ryan Broyles after he suffered a torn ACL in the third quarter of the game. Head coach Bob Stoops said after the game the injury will keep Broyles out of play for the rest of the season.

Sunday night the BCS ranking will be released and by the looks of the polls many expect Oklahoma State to also jump ahead of Alabama to the second spot especially since the Cowboys remain atop all the computer polls.

As far as other Big 12 teams in the rankings Texas is No. 20 in the Coaches Poll and No. 21 in the AP Poll.

OSU now prepares for a road game against Texas Tech Nov. 12 and Oklahoma has a bye week this week before traveling to face the Baylor Bears on Nov. 19.
