OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old woman as a homicide.

Police were called to an apartment complex at 3040 S.W. 89th Street around 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 27. When they arrived at an apartment, they found Kelsey Bransby lying on the floor. She had trauma to her body.

An ambulance rushed Bransby to a nearby hospital. She died from her injuries over the weekend. Investigators are not saying what kind of injuries she suffered.

Bransby's father told News 9 his daughter lived in the apartment where she was found, but she also often stayed with her mother in the 5300 block of Memorial Road.  He said no funeral arrangements have been made yet.

Her father is still coming to terms with his daughter's death. He did not wish to talk on camera but said they are working with detectives to determine what happened.

Police are not saying what the trauma to her body was. But friends on Facebook are reporting she was shot in the face.

"At this point we are working this as a homicide. Our investigators are looking at it as a homicide. However, we have no suspect information right now," said Jennifer Wardlow with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The apartment complex manager shows no record of Bransby living here, and a knock to her door went unanswered.

But her father told us Bransby had recently moved down there after living with her mother in Northwest Oklahoma City for a time.

The teenager had recently graduated from Vo-Tech through Deer Creek Schools. But had spent much of her childhood at Mustang schools, the same school Carina Saunders graduated from.

In fact, the two would have been in the same graduating class. But no word on whether the two knew each other.

Police are now searching for anyone who can provide information about Bransby's death. If you have any information, call the Homicide Tip Line at (405) 297-1200. Callers can remain anonymous.
