OKLAHOMA CITY – What began as a possible stand off with a man inside a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex Thursday afternoon ended six hours later as an apparent suicide.

Investigators were on the scene as late as 10 p.m. trying to piece together what happened at the Drexel on the Park Apartments in the 4200 block of north Drexel Blvd.

Police were called to the complex shortly after the victim's family became concerned for his well-being. Police have not released the identity of the man and say they are not sure of a motive for his actions.

Once police entered the apartment, they found a suspicious package that was thought to have a bomb inside. Bomb squad officials were contacted and investigated the package. No bombs were found.

Police say family members reported the man missing on October 16, but found his car at the apartment complex on Thursday.
