Middle School Science Experiment Goes Bad, One Injured

DEL CITY, Oklahoma -- The Del City Fire Department and EMSA are responding to Kerr Middle School at 2300 Linda Lane on reports of a science experiment gone bad.

According to authorities, it happened just after 3 p.m. Wednesday when an explosion occurred during a science experiment at the school. One 8th grade girl was injured and is being treated at the hospital. No word yet on the extent of her injuries.

Authorities said there was no wrongdoing, that it was just a freak accident.
