The D.C. Connection

Sunday's game featured several players and personalities from the Washington D.C. area.

Kevin Durant grew up in the D.C. area and played AAU ball there for a number of years. He also played two years of high school ball there before transferring to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, and eventually Montrose Christian Academy in Texas for his senior year.

Durant played with fellow D.C. native and current Minnesota Timberwolf Michael Beasley. Beasley led all scorers with 56 points in Durant's Sunday charity game.

Former Thunder player Jeff Green scored 21 in the exhibition. Green was born in Cheverly, Maryland, which is just outside of Washington D.C.

Finally, Durant gave fans a treat by bringing in friend and famous basketball emcee Miles Rawls. Rawls serves as the commissioner of the Goodman League in D.C. and provided entertaining and humorous commentary throughout Sunday's game.

The New Guy

With no NBA season in sight, it's easy to forget that the Thunder indeed have new players on their roster.

One of them, Reggie Jackson, played in Sunday's exhibition game. The Thunder drafted Jackson out of Boston College with the 24th overall pick in the 2011 draft.

Jackson only registered six minutes in the game, but scored 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including being on the receiving end of a couple of nice passes from LeBron James.

Jackson was a late addition to the White team's roster when a couple of players, including guard Monta Ellis were unable to make it to the game.

People Of Interest

The big game certainly attracted plenty of attention, and several notables showed up just to hang out and take in the action.

Memphis Grizzly Rudy Gay showed up late for the game and sat on one of the benches, but didn't participate on the court.

Tina Thompson, the first draft pick in WNBA history and the league's all-time leading scorer was on hand.

And several Thunder players who weren't on the exhibition rosters, such as Daequan Cook and Eric Maynor, showed up to hang out and take in the action.

Finally, actor/comedian DeRay Davis coached up the Blue team roster, while former OSU Cowboy Desmond Mason served as the other coach.

Oklahoma State fans got a blast from the past as OSU public address announcer Larry Reece, who was doing P.A. for Sunday's game, gave Mason a typical Cowboy starting lineup-style introduction.
