OKLAHOMA CITY -- U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe isn't happy with the circumstances of the announced withdrawal of all remaining troops from Iraq.

President Barack Obama said Friday the troops would be home for December holidays.

Inhofe released a statement saying President Obama should have negotiated to keep U.S. troops in Iraq longer to deal with gaps in things like special operations, intelligence and air control.

"President Obama is jeopardizing Iraq's long term stability, a risk that threatens to undo all that our forces have fought and died to gain," Inhofe said.

Congressman Tom Cole released a similar statement Friday.

Nearly 4,500 U.S. troops have died in Iraq.
