OKLAHOMA CITY -- The man suspected of robbing an Oklahoma City bank armed with a shotgun is behind bars.
According to the FBI, 47-year-old Barry G. Brown, Sr. of Spencer was arrested for bank robbery. It happened at the InterBank at 1201 W. Memorial Road on October 18 when a black man with a limp entered the bank with a shotgun and demanded money. The suspect was seen driving off in a red Nissan Xterra.
Investigators said they received several tips by phone that the man in the surveillance pictures was Brown. Agents reviewed an Oklahoma Department of Corrections photograph of Brown and thought Brown looked similar to the bank robber. In addition, the web site showed Brown was missing his left leg.
After further investigation, it was discovered Brown's sister owned a red Nissan Xterra. Brown's sister was interviewed by the FBI and she stated Brown had her vehicle until 4:00 p.m. on October 18.
Brown was arrested October 19 at the Studio 6 Hotel near I-40 and Sooner Road, where he had rented a room.
