Your 2 Cents: Viewers' Opinions On Learning Mexican Pledge Of Allegiance

Posted: Updated:

Kelly Ogle, News 9

Last night I expressed concern that students in a Spanish class in Texas, 10 miles from the Mexican border were required to learn and recite the Mexican Pledge of Allegiance.

Here's what you had to say, Michelle writes: "If you get so offended by it, to me it's being racist don't you think?"

Katie from Enid: "I am sick and tired of other nationalities coming into the United States of AMERICA and forcing their beliefs on us and trying to rid us of ours."

Lorna from Fairview says: "Learn the AMERICAN Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish, we have no allegiance to Mexico."

And James from Meeker adds: "..maybe even recite the preamble to the US Constitution in Spanish."

Debbie from Davis writes: "English and the Pledge of Allegiance to the United State of America, are there any other choices......NO!!!!"

Clay says: "It is understood that English is the primary language, but it's not set in stone.

I see no problem in this teacher's assignment."

From Alison: "..there are lots of assignments in some of my classes that I don't agree with.

I think they need to stop whining and just do the assignment.."

Finally Michelle from Cement writes: "Where are the ones that are complaining about our kids learning our Pledge of Allegiance?"
