OKLAHOMA CITY -- City Council members voted Tuesday to allow the Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) to provide Oklahoma City's paramedic services for the next five years.

The resolution passed seven to one. EMSA services are provided through a joint trust that includes the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas. Council members review the trust every five years to make sure the agreement is still cost effective.

EMSA has provided paramedic services in Oklahoma City for 20 years.
