STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Quad/Graphics, Inc announced Tuesday it will stop production at its facilities in Stillwater, which could put hundreds of people out of work.

Quad/Graphics is headquartered in Sussex, Wisconsin. It provides print and graphics for consumer magazines, special interest publications, catalogs, retail inserts/circulars, direct mail, books, directories, and commercial and specialty products.

The company's Stillwater plant employs approximately 240 people. Quad/Graphics says production at the plant will stop in May 2012. The company also plans to shut down its Richmond, Virginia plant, which employs another 125 people.

A news release says Quad/Graphics will assist its employees in finding new jobs, including jobs at other Quad/Graphics locations.

"As we move forward with this complex integration, we always remember that our decisions affect people's lives," said Joel Quadracci, Quad/Graphics CEO. "We value the talents and contributions of the employees impacted by today's announcement, and we will help them with their career transition."

The Stillwater plant is roughly 350,000 square feet and is located on West Airport Road.

Quad/Graphics also has a 1.3 million square feet facility located near Will Rogers International Airport in Oklahoma City.
