Pellet Gun Shooting Incident Prompts Policy Changes At OKC School
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Changes in policy occurred at a metro elementary school after parents said a student shot three others with an airsoft gun.
We first told you about this on Friday, October 14. Parents said the incident happened at Coolidge Elementary during an indoor recess where the students had limited supervision.
Officials with the Oklahoma City Public School District said after the incident, they reviewed and changed some of the recess monitoring procedures at the school.
The administrations released the following statement on Monday:
"While the incident involved a plastic toy, the district takes all situations involving the safety of OKCPS students/staff seriously."
The district said it disciplined the student who had the toy gun, but would not go into detail.
