OKC Driver Critically Injured In Collision With Utility Pole

A woman was critically injured when her car struck a utility pole in Oklahoma City Sunday afternoon, according to police.

OKLAHOMA CITY – A woman was critically injured when her car struck a utility pole in Oklahoma City Sunday afternoon, according to police.

This happened near Northwest Expressway and County Line Road. Police said the woman was headed eastbound on Northwest Expressway when her car veered across traffic and struck a utility pole at County Line Road.

Police said the utility pole was sheared in half due to the accident. The woman was transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition due to massive injuries.

According to police, OG&E and Cox Cable are on the scene to repair the power and cable TV lines. All directions of traffic, but one, are reopened at this time.

The identity of the driver has not been released. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
