OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews have once again reopened the Interstate 44 on- and off-ramps for Classen Boulevard. Now ODOT is planning a project to permanently repair the flooding issue on the heavily-traveled road.

The ramps have been shut down and reopened twice since Saturday due to heavy rain. The area usually floods during stormy weather and drivers have come to expect ramp closures when it rains.

ODOT now plans to permanently fix the problem. Beginning the morning of Monday, October 18, crews will begin repairing the damaged drainage structure on Classen Boulevard. The project will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.

All ramps will remain open during the project, but the left lane of eastbound I-44 will be closed between Pennsylvania Avenue and Classen Boulevard.
