OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Council members are considering whether or not to keep EMSA running in the city.
Right now, EMSA services are provided through a joint trust that includes the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metro areas.
Every five years, city council members review the trusts and evaluate if they want to stay with EMSA.
They say there's no problem with EMSA, it's more a matter of checking up on the service and making sure it's feasible for the city.
"We're not dissatisfied with it," said Craig Freeman, city finance director. "On the citizen's surveys, consistently, they rate it as one of the highest in citizen satisfaction, so it's just a matter of looking at it and making sure we're handling our ambulance service in the right way."
The council members must decide by the end of October. At this point, they said it seems more cost effective to keep EMSA.
