TUCSCON, Ariz. – University of Arizona athletic director Greg Byrne announced Monday that the school has fired head coach Mike Stoops.

Arizona has lost five of its six games this season, and 10 of its last 11 dating back to last year. Two of those losses came against Oklahoma State; once in last year's Alamo Bowl, and another in the second week of this season.

Stoops is the brother of current Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops, and both were part of the Sooners' staff from 1999-2003. Mike Stoops spent eight years at Arizona and finished his career there with a 41-50 record.
