NOBLE COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Two Perry residents were killed in a two-car collision that took place Saturday night on U.S. Highway 64 in Noble County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 57-year-old Brian Brady was driving a Chevy SUVeastbound on Cedar Street merging onto Highway 64 just before 8 p.m. when his car partially left the road to the right. The SUV then spun out into the westbound lane of the highway where it was hit by an oncoming Ford Escort.

Nicholas Johnson, driver of the Ford Escort, was admitted to the Stillwater hospital with multiple injuries. He was pronounced dead at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, according to an update from the Highway Patrol.

Lara Pohlen, 19, was in the backseat of the Escort. She was taken by medical helicopter to St. John in Tulsa where she died of massive injuries.

Passenger Terance Newton, 20, was also admitted with leg injuries. A third passenger, 24-year-old Jarod Dehaas of Perry was treated and released from the Stillwater Hospital.

Johnson, Pohlen and Newton were pinned in the vehicle for an unknown amount of time, according to the trooper's report.

The driver and passenger of the SUV refused treatment at the scene.

According to the trooper's report, the cause of the collision was "failure to stay in lane." The condition of both drivers was apparently normal at the time of the wreck. The report also notes that the roadway was wet.

Johnson and the couple in the SUV were wearing seat belts, the passengers in the Escort were not.
