PIEDMONT, Oklahoma -- After a close first quarter, the Clinton Red Tornadoes pulled away to drop the Piedmont Wildcats 41-10 Friday to move to grab their second district win of the season and move to 4-1 on the season.

The Red Tornadoes drew first blood, quarterback Garrison Mendoza connected with Jake Reynolds for a 42-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to take a 7-0 advantage. However, Piedmont responded with a 63-yard touchdown pass from Collin Bricker to Christian Foster to tie the game with seven minutes left to play in the first quarter.

After a long Clinton drive, fullback Aaron Lustfield punched it in from three yards out to put the Red Tornadoes up 14-7 to end the first quarter, a score that would hold through the second quarter.

Clinton's Jalee Rainge finished the half with 14 carries for 114 yards, while Mendoza completed just four passes, but racked up 111 yards and a score.

Rainge wasn't done yet and cracked off a 52-yard run in the third quarter, setting up a sneak by Mendoza to put Clinton up 21-7 in the third quarter. Piedmont tried to answer, but a penalty brought it back and the Wildcats had to settle for a 35-yard field goal to cut the lead to 11.

Once again the Red Tornadoes went back to Rainge, this time on a screen pass that went 20 yards for a touchdown to move ahead 27-10 heading into the fourth quarter. Piedmont threatened once again, but Ben Perez picked the ball off in the end zone, keeping the Wildcats off of the board.

Rainge moved to put the game away, cracking off a 72-yard touchdown run to put Clinton up 34-10 with 10 minutes left to play. Bowman Vowell came up with a pick-six on the next drive to put the Red Tornadoes up 41-10.

Clinton will now return home and try to stay undefeated against Cache, while Piedmont travels to Woodward and attempts to avoid losing back-to-back games.
