EDMOND, Oklahoma – Edmond Memorial managed to win its second consecutive game Thursday with a narrow 13-10 victory over Moore.

Both teams entered the night coming off their first wins of the season, but with offenses that had struggled through the majority of their first four games. Those offensive issues continued for both sides.

Moore kicked a field goal in the first quarter to take a 3-0 lead, and the score stayed the same for almost two full quarters. Edmond Memorial finally managed to get on the board late in the third with an 8-yard touchdown run by Daniel Smith to take a 7-3 lead.

Memorial linebacker Matt Hickman then came up with a key interception that set the Bulldogs up with good field position. They took advantage with a 25-yard touchdown run by Gavin Fouts to make it a two-possession game, but the Lions would not go quietly.

Edmond Memorial missed the extra point, and Moore followed with a touchdown on the ensuing drive to cut the lead to three. The Lions then recovered an onside kick, needing only a field goal to tie the game.

They got that chance with time winding down, but missed a 30-yard field goal with less than two minutes remaining. That gave the ball back to Edmond Memorial, which ran the clock out to preserve a three-point win.
