MUSTANG, Oklahoma -- The community of Mustang is preparing to memorialize longtime Nichols Hills Fire Chief Keith Bryan.

Bryan's service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang. Pastor Jim McNabb said he expects a large turnout to Chief Bryan's memorial service. A number of metro fire departments, including Nichols Hills, Mustang, Edmond and El Reno where the Chief's son is a firefighter, will attend the service.

Mustang Police said Fire Chief Keith Bryan's wife called 911 around 10 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, after someone broke into their Mustang home in the 1300 block of Rose Hill Drive. She told police a man drove up to the house in a small or mid-size, dark-colored pickup truck. She says he got into the house through an open garage door.

Mustang Police said the man shot Chief Bryan once in the head, ran back to his vehicle and drove away.

The church is all too familiar with tragedy. In July 2007, two church members were severely injured in a fireworks show in Piedmont. The brother and sister died from their injuries.

The same year, the sibling's father, also a member of The Bridge, died in a car accident.

The church will also hold funeral services for an Oklahoma soldier killed in Afghanistan. Sergeant Mycal Prince's funeral will be held Monday.
