OKLAHOMA CITY -- A police chase ended in Southwest Oklahoma City when the suspect crashed into a fence early Friday morning.
It started shortly after 2 a.m. According to police, an officer saw the suspect take off at a high rate of speed and when he wouldn't stop, the pursuit was on.
When the driver got to 27th Street and Walker Avenue, he collided with a fence.
"At this time it's unknown why the driver of the vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed, or why he didn't stop for the officer," said Captain Ron Bacy with Oklahoma City Police department.
Firefighters had to get the driver out. He was taken to a local hospital to be checked out.
Police said they are unsure of the driver's identity or condition. They are still investigating this case at this point.
