OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma high school coach accused of having sex with a student remained behind bars Friday, despite the fact that no charges have been filed in the case.
Thirty-two-year-old Western Heights teacher and coach Tyrone Nash went before a judge Friday morning. The state hasn't filed formal charges, but the judge gave prosecutors until 10 a.m. Tuesday to do so.
Teachers, coaches, and family members were at the courthouse to show support. Many were ready to speak with the judge on Nash's behalf, but the judge gave the state more time.
"The accusations are totally inconsistent with his character," said Joe McLemore, Nash's pastor and neighbor. "I can say nothing but I'm here for him. I'm behind him."
Nash is accused of ten counts of rape and six counts of sodomy. He is being held on an arrest warrant with a bond of $150,000.

Nash's attorney asked that the bond be lowered, telling the judge it was a ridiculously high amount for a teacher to pay.
The attorney said he expects the state to be ready with formal charges Tuesday.
Family and co-workers said they are ready to give oral or written statements to the court on Tuesday.
