YUKON, Oklahoma -- The deadly tornadoes in May left much heartache and devastation across our state. And for one man in Yukon, it left him with a homeless dog.

Kyle Kuykendall and his family own Kastan's Boarding and Grooming on Piedmont Road in Yukon. During the storms back in May, he went outside to catch a look. What he saw, he said, was just heart wrenching.

"While we were out there watching, we see a dog running down Highway 4 just completely out of gas," said Kyle Kuykendall, the man who found the lost dog. "Her eyes were as big as saucers; I think she was in shock."

The Kuykendalls took her in and are calling her Maude, for now. But they haven't given up in finding her rightful owners. They've put up posters and called animal control, all with no luck.

Kuykendall said he's not sure if the dog's family was affected by the tornado or not, but he's certain she does have a family.

"She's just a little brown and white dog, 30 to 40 pounds," said Kuykendall. "She's completely house broken, loves to play with kids, not loud, doesn't dig. She's the perfect dog. She was somebody's pet because she had a collar on and everything."

Just no tags. Kuykendall hopes the owners will see this story and come forward. But if not, he hopes to find her a good home.

If you recognize this dog or maybe want to adopt her, you can contact Kuykendall at 405-350-2345.
