EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Vandals broke into the St. Jude's Dream Home in Edmond, taking expensive kitchen equipment and leaving behind a lot of damage.
The builder called police to 3008 St. Fergus on the evening of Tuesday, September 6. When officers arrived, they found the refrigerator had been stolen. It's worth $2,500.
The island in the kitchen was also vandalized. The cabinet had been pulled from the floor, and the granite countertop had been ripped off. The builder estimated the damage to the island at $600. The wood floor in the kitchen also had several scratches. In all, the vandals caused about $3,700 in damage.
Police say nothing else was taken from the house. The dream home giveaway raised more than $700,000 for research and treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
